Shahid shines

KARACHI, Oct 31: AKU Staff ‘A’ won the AKU Sports Centre 1st Twenty20 Ramazan Festival cricket tournament with a 49-run defeat of Cougars Apparel Net in the final on Sunday.

Batting first, AKU Staff ‘A’ made 192 for eight with useful contributions from Shahid Hussain (43 with three fours and one six) and Mir Afzal Baig (39 with six fours and one six).

Cougars managed 143 for nine in response with Moiz Mehdi (three for 27) and Adnan Jafferi (three for 33) doing most of the damage.

AKU Staff ‘A’ skipper Adnan Jafferi was declared Man-of-the-Tournament for his all-round contributions. Mir Afzal Baig and Azam Khan were declared best batsman and bowler.

Shahid Hussain was adjudged the Man-of-the-Final for his fine batting and three catches.
