LAHORE: A sessions court on Tuesday granted interim pre-arrest bail to five lawyers, including two former office bearers of the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC), in the FIRs lodged against them on charges of possessing fake degrees of LLB and others.

The court allowed the bail to Shahnawaz Ismail Gujjar and Jamil Asghar Bhatti, former vice chairmen of the PbBC, till Aug 10 and 12, respectively.

Other lawyers who got bail include Tariq Riaz, Javed Bashir and Muhammad Hafeez.

Civil Lines police had registered FIRs against the lawyers on the complaint of PbBC Additional Secretary Rafaqat Ali Sohal.

The lawyers have been booked under sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of Pakistan Penal Code.
