Child buried alive

GUJRANWALA, Oct 31: A boy was buried alive under a heap of bricks on Ratta Road here on Monday. Ali Akbar was playing on a stack of bricks along with his friends. He slipped accidentally and a column of bricks fell on him. People took him out and sent to the DHQ hospital where he died soon after arrival.

He was the student of elementary school and son of trader Muhammad Hafiz.

HOUSE ROBBERY: Four gunmen robbed the house of a rice dealer and former councillor and took away a motorcycle in two strikes in Ghakkhar on Monday.

The robbers forced their entry into the house of Mian Ijaz Ahmad, son of councillor Mian Zahoor Ahmad, on Kot Noora Road. They locked the family in a room and collected Rs150,000 in cash, gold jewellery weighing 40 tolas worth Rs400,000, three mobile phones and other valuables. They locked the house from outside before fleeing.

Two highwaymen deprived Muhammad Aslam of his motorcycle on the GT Road in Ghakkhar when he was on his way to Pir Kot.
