ISLAMABAD: The prime suspect in the E-11 couple harassment case on Friday shared details about how the video of a forcibly detained couple was leaked.

The prosecution produced the accused Usman Mirza and others before Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate Waqar Gondal. The judge extended their judicial remand till Sept 10 and directed the police to submit a challan by the next date.

Talking to journalists, Mirza said that he had a dispute with one of his business partners Sheikh Qayyum over Rs40 million. He said that Qayyum had given him a cheque of Rs20 million which had bounced.

He said Qayyum turned against him, after he got a first information report (FIR) registered for cheque dishonour. Qayyum and his wife then leaked the video on social media, he claimed, adding that he was arrested by police even before the video went viral.

The young man in the video and the girl were related to the property business and they took keys of the E-11 flat for visitation of a potential buyer, he said.

Court seeks arguments on Jaffer’s bail plea

Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Sohail asked the counsel for Zahir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee to advance arguments on Aug 4 on the post-arrest bail applications.

Shaukat Mukadam, father of Noor Mukadam, told the court that he had not engaged a lawyer so far on the bail matter. The judge advised him to engage a lawyer forthwith since the arguments will be heard in detail on Aug 4.
