CHAGAI: A body found two months ago has been identified as that of Nasimullah, a student who went missing after allegedly being kidnapped in May.

The family buried the body in a graveyard in Chagai town.

Chagai Tehsildar Javed Kurd told Dawn that the decomposed body was identified after DNA reports were received. He said Nasim was kidnapped by two of his close Afghan refugee friends who later fled to Afghanistan to avoid arrest. He said a charge of murder has been included in the case.

Mr Kurd said officials were unaware as to how and why Nasimullah was abducted and later killed.

Meanwhile, the National Party said it would hold demonstrations against the killing in Chagai district.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the party’s district spokesman asked workers to stage protest demonstrations outside press clubs in Dalbandin, Chagai and Nokkundi on Aug 1.
