Sohail slams century

KARACHI, Oct 30: A hurricane knock of 128 by Sohail Ahmed inspired Cougars Apparel Net into the final of the AKU Sports Centre 1st Twenty20 Ramazan colour-kit cricket tournament with a 134-run victory over UBL at the AKU Ground.

Opener Sohail blasted 11 boundaries and eight sixes during his 65-ball innings as Cougars Apparel Net piled up a massive 289 for three. Azam Khan was also in punishing mood as he unleashed eight fours and two sixes scoring 76 off 40 deliveries.

UBL mustered 155 for eight in their chase.

Meanwhile, AKU Staff ‘A’ team also reached the final after defeating AKU Faculties by seven wickets with Mir Afzal making all-round contributions. After picking up two wickets, he made a 24-ball 50 with the aid of six fours and three sixes.

AKU FACULTIES 154-7 in 20 overs (Razi Hussain 57, Karim Khan 56; Mir Afzal 2-29); AKU STAFF ‘A’ TEAM 159-3 in 17.3 overs (Mir Afzal 50, Adnan Jafferi 44, Shahid Hussain 42 not out; Naeem 2-32).
