MANSEHRA: The district education department has appointed 38 teachers, who will be posted on the vacant seats at primary, middle and high schools.

“I have ordered appointment of 38 teachers after completion of a process, based only on merit,” Tanveer Awan, the district education officer, told reporters here on Sunday.

He said that government wanted quality education for the students studying at public sector schools. “Hundreds of teachers have been appointed recently and posted at the schools across the district,” he added.

Meanwhile, a group of people have demanded of the government to end the discretionary powers of the members of provincial assembly (MPA) in the appointment of lower grade employees.

They said that the lawmakers didn’t follow the appointment criteria and appoint their voters and supporters, ignoring the deserving and rightful aspirants.
