Russia has reported nearly 24,000 new Covid-19 cases and a repeat all-time high in the number of daily deaths, at 799, according to Reuters.
Russia has been in the grip of a surge in cases that authorities blame on the more contagious Delta variant.
The coronavirus task force has confirmed 23,947 new Covid-19 infections across the country in the last 24 hours, down around five per cent on the previous week.
