KARACHI, Oct 30: Coordinator of the Federal Relief Commission Senator Nisar Ahmed Memon has appealed to people not to donate old/used clothes for quake victims who, he said, badly needed tents and medicines.

He was speaking after a Quran Khwani which was followed by Dua for the October 8 quake victims. The gathering was organized by PML, Karachi chapter, here on Sunday.

Nisar Memon, who is also Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production, paid tributes to people, particularly doctors and Karachiites, for their exemplary participation in the ongoing relief operations.

He noted that PIA, Railways, NLC, public departments and private organizations were working whole-heartedly for the survivors, and said that this was the time to cooperate with each other and provide maximum relief to the affected people.

Local PML leaders Bostan Ali Hoti and Amanullah Paracha also spoke on the occasion.—APP
