The Gilgit-Baltistan government has ordered the closure of offices in three districts for a week due to a surge in Covid-19 cases.

According to a notification, offices in Gilgit, Hunza and Skardu will remain closed from July 19 to July 25, while employees will work from home.

It said the health and general administration departments will remain open with a limited number of staffers, however, no meetings will be allowed.

The administration has also prohibited the sale of oxygen cylinders to irrelevant persons.
