CHITRAL/LOWER DIR: Hundreds of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers demonstrated in Chitral on Friday against federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur over his scathing remarks against founder of their party and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Led by PPP provincial deputy information secretary Salim Khan and local leaders Fazle Rabbi Jan, Alam Zeb, Qazi Faisal and others, the protesters marched on the Shahi Qila Road and gathered outside the press club.

They trampled the effigy of Gandapur down and shouted slogans against him for calling Bhutto a traitor.

Mr Salim said the party workers won’t tolerate the use of foul language against their leader, who initiated the country’s nuclear programme at the cost of his life.

He asked the minister to tender an unconditional apology to the PPP workers on the floor of the assembly.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters at the Timergara Press Club, PPP Malakand division president Bakht Baidar Khan, former minister Malik Azmat Khan, former provincial ministers Muzafar Syed, Mehmood Zeb Khan and others condemned federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur for using foul language against the PPP founder and former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

They asked the minister to resign from his post and tender public apology for his derogatory remarks.

Also, the Peoples Youth Organisation activists staged a protest demonstration in front of the press club against the federal minister.
