Five police officials granted bail

GUJRANWALA, Oct 27: The Lahore High Court on Thursday granted bail to five Elite Force men allegedly involved in escape of former SHO Inspector Zulfikar Virk from anti-terrorism court.

The police had absolved the accused in an investigation.

The court ordered the accused to furnish surety bonds of Rs25,000 each to district and sessions court.

The accused, ASI Abdul Jabbar and constables Muhammad Hanif, Muhammad Aslam, Shabbir Hussain and Nisar Ali were released from jail on the same day.

ACQUITTED: A local court acquitted a man charged with killing three women, including his wife and daughter, following mediation between the heirs on Thursday.

According to the prosecution the accused, Zameerul Hassan, had killed his wife Shamim Bibi, daughter Anam Bibi and sister Muazama Bibi on Sept 7, 2004, in Satelite Town.
