Canal breach

NAWABSHAH, Oct 27: A twenty feet wide breach occured in Malwah Shakh near village Mitha Khan Jokhio, Daulatpur town on late Wednesday night. The floodwater gushing out from the breach inundated villages and a huge cultivated area. The irrigation department was immediately informed but no official visited the site till filing this report. Growers claimed that they had plugged the breach and alleged that the breach had occured due to weak enbankments of the canal. —APP
