KARACHI, Oct 27: The Sindh government has prohibited sale and supply of all types of tents to anyone except government departments by tent manufacturers for a period of 30 days with immediate effect.

The Sindh Home Department issued an order to this effect here on Thursday.

It said: “Whereas, it has been made to appear before the Provincial Government that subsequent to the incident of Oct 8, earthquake, certain tent manufacturers have been found in sale and supply of tentage to various persons on exorbitant price, thereby causing shortage of supply to the affectees and hampering relief operations.

“Therefore, in exercise of powers vested under sub section 6 of Section 144 Cr.P.C., the Government of Sindh do hereby prohibit sale and supply of all type of tents to any other person except Government Department by tent manufacturers for a period of 30 days with immediate effect. — APP
