KARACHI: A sessions court on Tuesday personally summoned the Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan on June 29 in a case pertaining to allegedly slapping Pakistan Peoples Party lawmaker Qadir Khan Mandokhel in a live television talk show.

Additional district and sessions’ judge (West) Sarah Junejo also summoned the SSP Complaints Cell and station house officer of the Saeedabad police station in person on June 29 along with ‘detailed’ report regarding the matter.

Advocate Mandokhel moved an application seeking direction for the SSP Complaints Cell and SHO PS Saeedabad to lodge an FIR against Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Dr Awan made headlines after the footage of her getting into a physical altercation with PPP MNA Mandokhel went viral on social media on June 10.
