PFUJ, Apnec on Eid holiday

Published October 27, 2005

KARACHI, Oct 26: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the All Pakistan Newspaper Employees Confederation (APNEC) have urged the All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) to withdraw its decision to have only closed holiday on Eid.

In a joint statement on Wednesday, the PFUJ and APNEC said the APNS had already lessened the number of holidays in a calendar year, and reducing two-day closed Eid holidays to one day would mean that many newspaper employees would not be able to get a chance to celebrate Eid with their families.
