CHAGAI: Six bogies of a freight train carrying sulphur from Iran derailed near Dalbandin in Chagai district on Saturday.

According to official sources, the train was on its way to Quetta from Zahedan when it met with the accident in the Laghap area, apparently owing to a dilapidated track.

However, no casualty was reported in the incident.

Pakistan Railways officer Nazeer Ahmed told Dawn that about 300 feet of the track was damaged due to the derailment. He said soon after the accident railway workers started repair and rehabilitation work.
