RAWALPINDI: Robbers looted Rs5.5 million from two employees of a construction company, injuring one of them, while they were on way to their office after withdrawing the cash from a bank in Saddar on Friday.

The incident occurred when the car in which Salman Haider, manager and Hamza Iqbal Awan, 30, an engineer, stopped at a traffic signal at Qasim Market on Peshawar Road which is not far from the offices of SP Potohar and the chief traffic office.

Mr Awan told the police that he along with Mr Haider was going to their office after withdrawing the cash when they were intercepted by robbers at about 12 noon.

He said when he attempted to resist the robbers they shot him in the arm, snatched the cash and fled. The injured was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where he was stated to be in a stable condition.
