ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The National Database and Registration Authority is preparing a database of those who were killed and injured in the Oct 8 earthquake and houses which collapsed in Azad Kashmir, sources said on Tuesday.

The sources said the data would be of help in relief operations and be useful for rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses which collapsed in the earthquake of October 8.

Teams were being sent to Azad Kashmir for the task, they said.

“We have complied the data of the quake victims shifted to Islamabad and now we are heading towards Azad Kashmir,” the sources said.

Nadra, they said, had been facilitating the relief operation by providing information about area-wise population to the relief commissioner. “Relief teams are given Nadra’s data before being sent to their designated areas. These teams take relief goods in accordance with the data,” they said.

They said the database would also help in providing compensation to deserving people.
