The Turkish health minister has announced that the country has lowered the vaccine eligibility age to 40 years for all its citizens.

“If you are 40 or older, you can make an appointment as of this morning. We expect 100 per cent participation,” Health Minister Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.

Anadolu Agency quoted Turkish Health Ministry data as showing that Turkey has administered over 33.3 million doses of Covid vaccines since it launched a mass vaccination campaign in mid-January. “More than 19.69 million people have gotten their first doses, while over 13.65 million have been fully vaccinated,” according to the data.
