KARACHI: Moniza Inam, a senior sub-editor of Dawn, passed away on Saturday. She was 58.

She leaves behind her husband and three sons.

Her family and friends said that she had been in a coma for the past more than three weeks after being diagnosed with brain tumor.

She was moved to the Cyber Knife Section of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in the third week of May where she was kept on a ventilator.

As her last assignment at Dawn, she was looking after Gallery section of the paper’s Sunday magazine as its in-charge.

Condolence messages poured in over her demise from colleagues, friends and journalist fraternity lauding her professional role as a journalist and remembering her as a polite person.
