LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party has decided to take part in the Sialkot by-polls and it has formed a six-member committee to finalise a candidate for the Punjab Assembly’s constituency fell vacant due to the death of PML-N MPA Khush Akhtar Subhani.

PPP Punjab Vvice-President Aslam Gill held a meeting with Sialkot district leaders to discuss the party position for the by-polls to be held on July 25.

He was told that more than one candidate was available to contest the election, while Sialkot president Azhar Dar suggested that someone from outside the party could also be accepted to give a good fight to the rival parties in the electoral bout.

Mr Dar said they were also ready to join the race for the AJK Legislative Assembly polls.

Mr Gill said the central leadership would also be invited to address the election rallies in the constituency.
