LONDON, Oct 25: European stock markets closed lower on Tuesday following a weak opening on Wall Street as disappointing results from some of the biggest companies in Britain and France also dampened sentiment, dealers said.

London’s FTSE 100 index closed down O.49 per cent to close at 5,182.1, while the Frankfurt DAX 30 fell 0.59 per cent to finish at 4,872.97 and in Paris the CAC 40 eased 0.56 per cent to 4,396.99.

The DJ Euro Stoxx 50 index of leading eurozone shares fell 0.53 per cent to 3,292.52 points.—AFP
