LAHORE: A minor student was killed while three others were injured after the boundary wall of a private school collapsed on College Road in Green Town area here on Monday.

A police official said the schoolchildren were playing near the wall when it collapsed. Four of them got trapped under the heavy structure and one of them, Eshal Sohail, died on the spot while the others suffered multiple injuries.

Rescue 1122 ambulances rushed to the site and shifted the injured children to a local hospital.

The official said apparently it seemed the school wall was in a dilapidated condition which led to the incident.

Parents of the children burst out at the school administration saying they were kept in dark about the incident for some hours.

They alleged when they came to know about the incident and rushed to the spot, the school management not only stopped them from entering the school building but also refused to share health condition of their children.

Meanwhile, the chief minister took notice of the incident and sought a report from the police and the district authorities with issuing directions to take action against those found responsible.
