ISLAMABAD, Oct 23: Speakers at a programme held in connection with the death anniversary of Hazrat Ali vowed to show unity in helping quake-affected people irrespective of colour and religious beliefs.

The programme organized by Imam Hussain Council was attended, among others, by Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob and Senator Dilawar Abbas.

The speakers highlighted the contribution of Hazrat Ali towards preaching of Islam in an era when the Arab Peninsula was going through the worst political turmoil.

They recalled the teachings of Hazrat Ali who had asked the Muslims to face natural calamities with patience and unity.
