MANSEHRA: Chairman of the Torghar district development advisory committee and MPA Laiq Mohammad Khan on Wednesday inaugurated work on the Rs240 million Judbah-Thakot Road.
“The construction of this highly important artery will bring positive changes in the lives of the locals as it will link the latter with Hazara Expressway and Karakoram Highway in Thakot area,” the lawmaker told the project inaugural ceremony in Judbah area.
He said the chief minister had ordered the release of Rs240 million for the project at his request.
Mr Laiq also inaugurated the Rescue 1122 Squad for the district and said more staff would be appointed if the needed arose.
PLANTATION: The Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) on Wednesday inaugurated a tree plantation campaign on the bank of the Kunhar River in Kaghan valley.
“During the plantation drive, we will plant around five million saplings to protect the river from soil erosion and silting,” KDA chairman Aimal Zaman told the inaugural ceremony in Naran area on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the provincial president of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Amir Muqqam, has alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf governments in the centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are involved in large-scale corruption and funding misappropriation.
“The PTI leadership in the centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has earned record wealth through sugar, flour, medicine and road scams,” Mr Muqqam told a worker convention here on Tuesday.
The PML-N leader said his party’s leadership, especially Sharifs, were being victimised by the ruling PTI through the National Accountability Bureau.
He said the people suffered from record inflation and won’t vote for the PTI in the general elections, which would take place shortly.
