QUETTA: The Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail has said that doing legislation is the responsibility of the assembly while its implementation is the job of the judiciary.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the newly-built judicial complex in Zhob on Saturday, he said that authorities themselves broke the law but held the courts responsible for interfering in the governance.

The judges of the high court, including Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Mohammad Hashim Kakar, Justice Abdullah Baloch, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Swati, Justice Nazir Ahmed Langove, Justice Abdul Hameed Baloch, Justice Rozi Khan Barrech, Justice Zaheeruddin Kakar, Registrar Rashid Mahmood and senior lawyers attended the ceremony.

Justice Mandokhail said that 70 per cent of the cases being heard by the courts belonged to the government as people approached the court for justice when they faced injustices at the hands of the government and its various departments. He said judiciary always gave decisions on the bases of justice.

“Issues could be resolved by implementing the law and education is needed for the implementation on law,” Justice Khan said.

He asked the judges to announce verdicts without any pressure or fear and on the bases of the evidence. He said cases were increasing in courts due to reposing of trust of people in the system as they considered the judiciary their last hope for seeking justice.
