RAWALPINDI, Oct 22: Pakistan Army defeated Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) 2-0 in the Premier League soccer on Saturday night. Shabbir and Jaffar struck for their side which gave solid performance in defence also to keep intact their 2-0 halftime lead.

The victory enhanced Army’s points to 48, while Wapda who will meet the soldiers on Sunday in the last league game, have 45 points.

Army and Wapda now have played 21 matches each under the format which requires each of the 23 competing teams to figure in 22 matches against each rival side on home-and-away basis.

Going into what will virtually be the final match on Sunday night, Pakistan Army will have a vastly superior goal average of 49 goals for and eight against. Wapda will have 42 goals for and 12 against.
