PESHAWAR/SWAT: Protest demonstrations and rallies were held in Peshawar and Swat on Thursday to condemn Israel for its bombing on civilian population in Palestine and demand an immediate end to the brutal killing of innocent people.

In Peshawar, Awami National Party women wing, Islami Jamiat Talba, Jamaat-i-Islami (youth wing), Almi Muttahida Ulema Mashaikh Council, Qaumi Amn Committee, Imamia Council and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat held protest demonstrations outside the Peshawar Press Club and at Chowk Yadgar to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.

The protesters set the flag of Israel on fire and asked the United Nations to play its role for an immediate end to the ongoing bombardment on Palestine.

They criticized the UN for its failure to stop the bloodshed in Palestine. In Swat, youth activists Abrar Ahmad and Yahya Khan led an anti-Israel rally.
