LAHORE: A man was shot at and injured for resisting a robbery in Model Town late on Saturday.

Police claimed that Ali Raza was going home when two armed suspects stopped him in Model Town’s Q block and asked him to hand over his belongings. Raza offered resistance at which the suspects shot him in the belly and fled away. Raza was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where he was said to be stable.

The Model Town police registered a case and started an investigation to arrest the suspects.

Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Sajid Kiyani took notice of the incident, sought a report from the Model Town superintendent of police and also directed him to take measures to arrest the robbers.

In another incident, a rickshaw driver was shot at and injured by suspected robbers in Shahdara on Sunday.

Police said Saeed of Shahdara was going home in his rickshaw when suspected robbers stopped him near a school. The suspects tried to snatch his belongings but he offered resistance at which the suspects shot at and injured Saeed, and fled from the scene.
