PRGMEA to hire foreign consultants

Published October 23, 2005

SIALKOT, Oct 22: The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has decided to hire foreign consultants in collaboration with the Export Promotion Bureau for advanced packaging and marketing of country’s export-oriented garments items.

Talking to reporters here, PRGMEA central chairman Ijaz A. Khokhar said the association had also decided to establish mini-training institutes in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Chawinda, Zafarwal, Shakargarh and Narowal for producing trained and skilled labour force for Sialkot’s value-added garments industry on priority basis.

He urged the government to adopt an effective business-friendly diplomacy and discourage exports of raw materials by focussing on value-addition.
