KASUR: The Pattoki police on Saturday registered a case against 10 people, four of them nominated under blasphemy section, on the charge of defiling a mosque, beating the prayer leader and threatening him with dire consequences at Purani Mandi.

The incident occurred when the prayer leader forbade these men from entering the mosque premises with their shoes on and trying to go upstairs to catch a pigeon. The residence of the prayer leader is also on the first floor of the mosque.

According to complainant Qari Ghulam Mustafa, 10 people stormed into the mosque with their shoes on and tried to go upstairs where his family resides. He said he forbade them from going upstairs and they not only tortured him but also hurled threats.

Police registered a case under sections including 295 (defiling place of worship place), 506 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code.

REVENUE OFFICIAL: The Kot Radha Kishan police have registered a case against 15 people for allegedly beating a revenue official and taking away 200 maunds of wheat from a godown at Khokhar village.

A team of the Kot Radha Kishan administration sealed a godown (owned by commission agent Muhammad Arshad) containing 200 maunds of wheat at Khokhar village. The raiding team appointed revenue official Muhammad Haroon to look after the godown.

Arshad, along with his 14 accomplices, held up the revenue official, tortured him and took away the produce on tractor-trolleys.

Police registered a case against Arshad and his 14 accomplices.
