TAXILA: An Elite Force commando received a bullet injury during a raid at a proclaimed offender’s hideout in village Pathargarh in the jurisdiction of Hassanabdal police station. The raid was jointly carried out by police and Elite Force.

According to a police spokesman, the raid was carried out on a tip-off to arrest Qadeer Khan.

The personnel called on Khan to surrender but his accomplice began firing at them. Commando Tariq Mehmood was injured during the exchange of fire and the PO was arrested and shifted to the police station for interrogation.

The injured official was shifted to Rawalpindi where his condition is stated to be out of danger. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Imran Ahmar on Monday visited Holy Family Hospital to inquire about the health ofthe injured official.

During his visit, the RPO issued instructions for the best possible treatment of the injured constable and also assured full cooperation with his family.

He praised the brave and courageous endeavor of the injured constable while performing his duty with missionary zeal.

He wished him a speedy recovery.

Moreover, Attock Khurd police also arrested a proclaimed offender, wanted for a case of attempted murder registered against him on Nov 6 last year.

The accused had Ali Raza shot and injured a man and then went underground.
