A YOUNG officer of the anti-corruption establishment belonging to Sindh was suspended recently allegedly on initiating an inquiry against a close relative of a higher-up. Another was transferred. Last year, a group of young provincial civil service officers was suspended and then asked to report back in a land scam that occurred in Hawksbay area in Karachi

Almost all the officers who were asked to report back had nothing to do with the scam, as they were not even remotely authorised to deal with the area in question.

These and other reckless and irrational actions by the civil superior service officials are ruining the careers of competent officers of the provincial cadre, and providing space for the accommodation of people from their own cadres.

Such officers need to be removed and inquiry should be initiated against them. I suggest a judicial inquiry into such matters and compensation to the affected officers in terms of their service.

Only justice to the officers can bring justice to the public.
