‘DAWN’ is in a position today to disclose startling facts regarding a semi-military Hindu organisation known as ‘Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’. For 19 years this organisation has worked underground and is avowedly directed against Muslims. …A special investigation has brought to light the following details about the “Sangh”.

“RSS”, or the “Sangh” as its members like to call it, was founded in 1927 with a very humble beginning in Nagpur by an obscure Dr. Balkrishan Hedgewar, a Maratha by birth. This man with no assets except hatred for Muslims and a grim determination to raise a volunteer band to crush them in course of time, founded the “Sangh” with 7 people as its foundation members. …In 6 years’ time he succeeded in enlisting about 3,000 men. By the close of 1934, he was able to establish 30 branches … Hitherto the activity of the Sangh has been confined to the cities but since last year, they have started work in smaller towns and by the end of next year hope to reach every village in India. …Hindu capitalists … contribute liberally for its upkeep. Some of the present Congress Ministries are among its active patrons… .
