LAHORE: One of the two suspects nominated in the murder case of a UK national woman in Defence reportedly surrendered himself to the police on Friday.

A police official said Saad appeared before the police and recorded his statement, saying that he had not killed Mahira.

He said though she was his friend he had not been in relations with her, the official said, adding the other suspect, Zahir Jadoon, was still at large.

He said the police were interrogating Saad.

Also, the police authorities transferred the investigation of Mahira’s murder case from Defence B police to the Crime Investigation Agency.

The official said they were after Jadoon. According to the FIR, Mahira was allegedly found shot dead in her rented house in Defence. The complainant of the case, Mohammad Nazeer, who is Mahira’s uncle, nominated Saad and Jadoon in the murder case.
