QUETTA: Central leader of the Balochistan National Party and former senator Nawabzada Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has alleged that media houses and the establishment are responsible for curbs on press freedom.

The doors of courts have been closed to people who seek justice over violations of constitutional rights, he said. He was speaking at an event held to mark the World Press Freedom Day on Tuesday.

“Restrictions on media houses to cover fraud, tax evasion and other issues are depriving people of a chance to learn about the truth, which is why people are moving away from electronic and print media to social media,” he added.
