SIALKOT: Two children were killed when a gas cylinder exploded in a social security residential quarter in the congested Factory Area of Shahabpura on Monday.

Ayan, 8, and Ajwa, 6, were playing in the quarter when a gas cylinder went off due to leakage. Both minors sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The quarter was also badly damaged due to the explosion.

Rescuers shifted the bodies to Govt Sardar Begum Memorial Teaching Hospital for autopsy.

Police started investigating.
