QUETTA: Like other parts of the country, International Labour Day was observed across Balochistan also on Saturday.

Different organisations took out rallies and organised seminars in the provincial capital, Loralai, Harnai, Sibi, Kalat, Khuzdar, Pishin, Zhob, Nasirabad, Jaffarabad, Ziarat, Kohlu, Turbat and Panjgur.

Labour leaders vowed to continue struggle for the rights of labourers and called for implementation of labour laws in the country.

President of the Balochistan Labour Federation Khan Zaman presided over a meeting held on the lawns of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation.

One-minute silence was observed in memory of the great martyrs of Chicago and labour leaders paid rich tributes to them and called for carrying forward their struggle in an organised manner.

“Life expectancy for the working class has reduced. Unemployment is rampant. People are starving, while young men are committing suicide. Revolutionary struggle is inevitable to change the system,” they said.
