TAXILA: A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his seven-year-old daughter at his residence located near Burhan.

According to Subdivisional Police Officer Fayyazul Haq Raja, the mother of the victim reported to police that her husband made indecent advances at her daughter and she caught him red handed.

Later, she took the victim to the police station where a medical examination was conducted that confirmed the assault.

A case was registered against the suspect under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code for committing rape, unnatural offence and sexual abuse and he was arrested.

Furthermore, a man voluntarily handed over his two sons to Bassal police who according to police were members of a five-member gang involved in robbery, burglary and street crime.

Three robbers out of a gang of five were chased and overpowered by local villagers in Pindigheb town of Attock on Wednesday.

Two of the suspects had successfully escaped; Daud Naqibi - father of the suspects who is also a native of the same village traced his sons and voluntarily handed them over to police for interrogation.

Meanwhile, two persons died and three others were injured, all of them critically in various parts of Attock district on Friday.

In the first incident, a dumper driver fell asleep while driving and his vehicle crashed into another dumper on G.T. Road near Cadet College Hasanabdal.

Due to the incident, 30-year-old Aabid Ali died after remaining trapped in the wreckage. Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and retrieved the deceased. Amin Khan was also injured in the accident.

In the second incident, a van collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction near Dhoke Syedan in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang police station.

Resultantly, 32-year-old motorcyclist Zaheer Ahmed died on the spot while three persons on board the van were injured.
