ISLAMABAD: An FIR has been registered in senior journalist and former Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority chairman Absar Alam attack case in Shalimar Police Station.

The other day, a gunman fired at Mr Alam when he was walking in a Park in F-11/2 near his house.

The case was registered against the unidentified person in response to a complaint filed by Mr Alam, the police said. According to the FIR, Mr Alam was walking in the park where a man wearing Shalwar Kamiz and covering his face fired at him and escaped.

As a result he sustained bullet injury in his abdomen.

Three persons took him to hospital, it said, adding that earlier, a suspect riding on a motorcycle conducted his reconnaissance when he was in the park, the FIR said.

The investigation wing of the capital is collecting CCTV footages, including the Safe City Project installed around or near the park.

More CCTVs footages are also being traced, they said, adding that the snap of the suspect, if found from the footages will be sent to Nadra for identification, they added.

The CIA is also conducting geo-fencing of the area, they added.
