ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Government today [April 19] lodged a strong protest with the Indian Government against the attack by armed Indian personnel — supported by artillery fire — on a Pakistani border post three miles north of Kasba, between Comilla and Brahmanbaria …

A protest Note, handed over to the Indian High Commission here this morning warned the Indian Government that the incident constituted an intrusion into Pakistan’s territory and asked it to “take necessary measures to ensure that such incidents do no occur again.”

[Meanwhile, as reported by agencies in Dacca,] Reports from across the border show that India has set up more supply centres in Tripura state to help the Indian infiltrators and anti-State elements in the eastern region of East Pakistan.

According to a New Delhi report, the Tripura State authorities have closed all the schools in the State. These schools buildings were being used as supply camps, although the New Delhi Radio would like the world to believe that these are to be used as refugee camps.

[Agencies add] Maulvi Farid Ahmad, President of the East Pakistan Peace and Welfare Council, said here today [April 19] that the appeal by [East Pakistan] Governor Lt-Gen Tikka Khan showed a sense of realism and was tinged with human consideration for those who erred… .
