BAJAUR: The authorities on Monday set up three more sasta bazaars in Bajaur tribal district.

According to a statement issued by the office of deputy commissioner, the administration on the directives of provincial government established three more sasta bazaars in the region to ensure provision of essential commodities to people at affordable rates during the holy month of Ramazan.

It said that essential food items would be provided to people at 30 per cent discount at the sasta bazaars established in Salarzai, Mamound and Nawagai tehsils.

Now the number of Ramazan sasta bazaars in Bajaur has reached four where people can get food items at affordable rates. These bazaars are strictly monitored by the administration.

Meanwhile, agriculture department said in a statement that the Ramazan sasta bazaars motivated local farmers to sell vegetables at 30 per cent discount.

Several farmers belonging to different areas of the district have established stalls of vegetables in these bazaars.

FREE MEAL: The district administration has launched a scheme to provide free meal to needy and homeless people during Ramazan.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Fayyaz Khan told journalists that the scheme named “Ramazan Dastarkhwan” was launched four days ago.

He said that Iftar dinner was regularly arranged for needy and homeless people under the scheme at district headquarters hospital, Khar.

He said that about 150 people were regularly participating in the dinner.

INJURED: Seven people were wounded in different road accidents here in the district the other day.

In Takhat locality, a motorcycle plunged into a deep gorge. Three persons identified as Usman Khan, 24, Teshil Khan, 22, and Hamza, 8, were injured in the accident.

The second mishap occurred on Raggan-Salarzai Road in Raggan bazaar where two motorcyclists received critical injures when their motorbikes collided with each other.

A teenage boy was wounded when a speedy motorbike hit him near fruit and vegetable market in Khar Bazaar.

Also, a man was injured when a car fell into a ditch near Mameenzo area in Khar tehsil.
