AKG Blues in last eight

KARACHI, Oct 18: Aga Khan Gymkhana (AKG) Blues sailed into the quarterfinals of AKG Twenty20 Cup Ramazan cricket tournament after scoring a thrilling three-run victory over Rangers Gymkhana at the AKG Ground on Tuesday.

AKG Blues, batting first, were dismissed for 108 in 18.3 overs.

Rangers Gymkhana, in reply, were bowled out for 19.5 overs while requiring only seven runs at the start of the final over.

AKG Blues’ stars were slow left-armer Raheem Suleman, who took three for 18, and Mir Afzal Baig two for 12.

Abdul Samad hit a fighting 32 but failed to his team from defeat.

AKG Blues with their third successive victory emerged Group ‘A’ champions.
