BAJAUR: The security forces on Wednesday claimed to have thwarted a sabotage bid by recovering weapons and bombs during a raid in Salarzai tehsil.

According to a statement issued from the Bajaur Scouts headquarters, the seizure included 16 rocket launchers, 15 hand grenades, five remote-controlled bombs and dozens of rounds. The action was conducted in Dandookai area near the Pashat Bazaar during an intelligence-based operation.

Separately, a woman was killed and six others injured in different incidents, residents and police said on Wednesday.

A man shot dead one of his wives and injured the other in Sheikh Baba locality of Khar.

The local residents said the women were quarreling over some issue, which infuriated Wali Rahman, 50, who took up a gun and opened fire.

The wounded woman was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar.

Also, three persons were injured when rival groups traded fire over a land dispute in Haji Lawang area near the Khar town.

Two motorcyclists were wounded when a truck hit their bike in Nawagai area.
