LAHORE: A district and sessions court on Monday allowed one-time exemption from personal appearance to PML-N MNA Javed Latif till April 14 in the hearing of his pre-arrest bail petition in a case registered against him on charges of inciting people against state institutions.

Latif’s counsel was supposed to advance his arguments, however, the court was informed that the petitioner could not appear since he developed Covid-19 symptoms. The counsel said a report of the petitioner’s test was awaited.

He asked the court to allow one-time exemption to Latif and adjourn the hearing.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Wajid Minhas adjourned further hearing till April 22 and directed the counsel to submit the petitioner’s report. The judge also asked the counsel to complete his arguments on the next hearing.
