LAKKI MARWAT: Rivals killed two young men over an old enmity in Mir Hazar Khanzadkhel locality here on Saturday night, the police said.

They said armed men attacked Qadir Khan and Shafiullah when were going home on a motorcycle. Both died instantly.

Shan Bibi nominated Abdul Rauf, Habibullah and Farmanullah in her preliminary report, stating that she along with her two sons was returning home after offering condolences with relatives over the death of a female when the culprits intercepted them.

“The armed men opened firing on my sons, killing them on the spot,” she said, adding a blood feud her family had with the attackers had already been settled.

The police said the bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tajazai, for postmortem. They registered a case against the suspected killers and began investigations.

Separately, a young man was shot dead over a dispute in Bairoon Myran Gate area of Bannu. The police identified the attackers as Ghulam and Farooq and the victim as Amir Khan, 25.

Also in the day, a policeman was injured in an encounter with drug traffickers in Zer Kallay area of Bannu.

An official said Ahmadzai police personnel went to the rural locality on information about presence of drug traffickers there, but noticing the police the drug traffickers opened fire, injuring Arif Khan.
