Reading dispels mental barrier

This is apropos to “Reading dispels mental barrier” by Noor Zahra (YW, March 20). The article motivates readers to polish their reading skills as it not only helps expand our imagination, but intellectual abilities as well.

I found this article very interesting. It suggests that we develop a reading habit and explore new things instead of wasting time on social media. Books provide new ideas and nourish the mind.

Colourful kites

This is regarding the story “Colourful kites” by Komal Ishtiaq (YW, March 6). The story painted the picture of children flying kites on rooftops. The story was an insight and a reminder to adults to pay attention to those who end up doing many careless things in order to fly a kite, which can be dangerous.

I am a keen reader of YW and I enjoy reading such meaningful stories and articles.

A pang of guilt

This is with reference to the story “A pang of guilt” by Anosha Nangraj (YW, March 13). I really enjoyed reading this story as it had provided a wonderful lesson.

The writer has rightly pointed out that if you have everything and still want to have more, then it is greed. We must avoid such negative traits.

Hunting birds

I would like draw attention to a very cruel practice that takes place mostly in the suburbs, rural and mountainous areas, where migration of seasonal birds are found.

Birds like to gather there and people find it easy to hunt them. It is destroying nature and also putting some species of birds at the brink of extinction. Just to get some strange pleasure and show other people their catch, people kill innocent lives mercilessly.

It is my request to the concerned department to make strict rules against the hunters and keep a close watch on places where such practices are carried out.

Meeting mishap

This is regarding the story “Meeting mishap” by Zainab Ali (YW, March 20). The story shows that we should stay alert during a confidential meeting, whether at the office, school, college or even a gathering of friends, spies could also be lurking there to take your confidential information. And if the confidential information is leaked by them, it could harm your relationships and personal life.
