PESHAWAR: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar on Wednesday organised flower exhibition on its campus at restricted scale to laud the efforts of the horticulture staff.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Vice-chancellor Dr Razia Sultana according to a statement issued here. The entire staff was divided into 10 teams to decorate different lawns of the university with seasonal flowers according to their aesthetics.
The first three winning teams were awarded cash prizes. On the occasion, Atif Hanif, the vice president of Bank of Khyber, also joined the event and announced an honorary amount of Rs50,000 for the entire horticulture staff of the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Razia Sultana said that plantation was important for creating clean environment.
She said that every organisation was fulfilling its responsibilities in every possible manner in that situation.
“The government is making untiring efforts to spread awareness regarding Covid-19. We can play our supportive role by strictly following standard operating procedure and taking all the precautionary measures,” she said.
The vice-chancellor said that due to the current pandemic, the mental health of people, especially the working cadre, was greatly affected. The event was an attempt to encourage and spread positivity among the employees, she added.
