QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan should increase the representation of Balochistan in the federal cabinet.

Talking to reporters here, he said that at present the federal cabinet had only one minister from Balochistan although the Balochistan Awami Party was an ally of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf both at the Centre and in the province.

Replying to a question, he said at least five ministers from Balochistan should be inducted into the federal cabinet. He said the formula for increasing the representation of Balochistan would improve the economy of the province and the whole country as Balochistan has huge natural resources which could be utilised for making the economy of the country strong.

The chief minister visited development projects in the provincial capital and reviewed the progress of work on the Badini link road, which is being constructed under the Quetta development package.

Meanwhile, Mr Alyani along with provincial officials paid a surprise visit to Mainagundi recreational park and Hazarganji National Park.

The chief minister directed the officials concerned to construct a new zoo in the Mainagundi park.
